Gina X. Grant’s Unlikely Drama, the third book in the Unlikely Murder Club cozy mystery series, is just as charming as the first two. Agatha Shadewell is an ex-con with a big heart and Robin Hood mentality. Ex-FBI agent Martin Kopp vouched for her early release from prison and she is integrating well into the small community of Unlikely. Townfolk love her quirky ways and sense of humour and she’s quickly come to love them back.
But as hard as she tries, trouble seems to follow her. When Royce Belfair, a cherished member of the community and theater owner / play director is brutally murdered, Agatha is once again thrust into a murder investigation.
Much to her surprise, this time, her keen investigative skills are recognized and she and Echo Augustus-Kopp, Martin’s brilliant teenage granddaughter, are recruited by Detective Cecil Kopp to find the killer. This is much to the chagrin of Martin, Cecil’s dad, who has been frozen out of the investigation due to recent hip surgery.
What makes this series so delightful is that it is suitable for all ages. Young adult readers, as well as mature readers will enjoy this equally as well. I highly recommend reading this delightful series in order, starting with the free giveaway, and prequel to the Unlikely Murder Club series, Agatha’s First Murder.
