An Unlikely Heist

An Unlikely Heist is the sixth novel in the Unlikely Murder Club series. I’ve followed all the Agatha Shadewell books, and this one may be my favourite – although that may be hard to choose since I enjoy all the books!

Now maybe it’s because Agatha Shadewell is the same age as I am (oops you’ll have to figure out my age by reading the books) or maybe it’s because I love her delightful and adventurous spirit but I fell in love with this series by Canadian Sisters in Crime Writer Gina X. Grant right away. It all started with her charming prequel which Gina offers to readers new to the Unlikely Murder Club Series for FREE. You can get a copy of the prequel novella, Agatha’s First Murder, here: https://shelfworthyreads.com/ginaxgrant

Charming and witty, Agatha Shadewell has grown to love the little town of Unlikely and, even though she won’t say so, to love retired FBI agent Martin Kopp, the man responsible for her arrest and subsequent release.

But Agatha’s shady past has come back to haunt her. Forty years ago, while honing her skills as an art forger at Madame Le Faux Académie des Beaux-Arts, a Maxine Vale painting, part of a diptych that she forged during her training, has resurfaced.

Agatha learns from a newspaper article that the estate of Julian Stavros will be donating two Maxine Vale paintings to a charity fundraising auction.

Except Agatha recognizes her handiwork… She may be forced to leave everything and everyone she loves behind if the truth behind the forgery comes out.

But she doesn’t count on the love and loyalty of her friends and her lover… Martin.

The story has plenty of surprises and comes to a very satisfying end with an exciting twist. If you love fast-paced mysteries, An Unlikely Heist should be added to your bookshelf!
